Are you ready for the golf season? (Part 1)

scottMake sure this summer you are as fit as you can be.

At Jinji Golf we are trying hard to help you improve your game no matter where in Japan you live, no matter what language you speak, and no matter what time of year it is. Since it is now April, and the season is only a few short months away, it is time to preparing for the upcoming season. In this article I will give you a few exercises to get yourself ready for the season.

In this exercise program, we will work on flexibility strength, and power. It will require you to either have access to a gym or have some space in your home. I recommend going to a gym. I know that this might not always be possible, but do your best to get through all of these exercises in one session.

Note: Some of the exercises require a partner. So find someone who also wants to work on getting ready for the season and you could do these exercises together.

Program:

Warm-up

Do any warm-up that you feel comfortable doing for 5 minutes. This could be riding a bicycle or walking on a treadmill. Anything to get your heart rate above normal.

Next part we will introduce some Flexibility Exercises.

See you there guys

Hello, I am Will

willHi, my name is William Schoenfeld. I started playing golf when I was 13 years old.  When I was 14 I began playing for my high school golf team. Coming from a small town gave to me the opportunity to start playing competitively my first year in high school.

After a year of University in Ohio, I decided to move to Phoenix, Arizona where it is golfing weather all year round. I started working at a golf course and as a caddie.

Then joined the South Mountain Community College Golf Team in 2001. In 2002, I won All-American Honors for play in the NJCAA Division 2 National Tournament. South Mountain is one of the top Junior College programs in America.

With this recognition, I earned a full-tuition scholarship to play for the Holy Names University Golf Team in Oakland, California. I had more success at his Junior College and attributes this to better coaching.

I came to Japan in 2007 and my passion for golf has never died. I continue to think, dream, and study golf all the time.

And I look forward to meeting you and helping you improve your game.

Come to Jinji Golf

Hello, I am Liz

eliz-profile-picHi everyone!  My name is Elizabeth Anne

I have been in Japan for 6 months and with Jingi Golf School since it was established at the end of last year.

I have been playing golf for many years, and it has always been my favorite sport. I grew up close to one of the most famous (and most challenging!) golf courses in New Zealand.  This was a fantastic opportunity as I could play frequently and develop all aspects of my game, as well as learn how to tackle every type of tricky shot.

Unfortunately golfing in Tokyo is not as accessible as in my home country, so I get my golf “fix” by getting to the driving range as much as possible and watching lots of tournaments on TV too! I am really enthusiastic about coaching golf as it brings be great pleasure seeing the improvement of my students.

I am looking forward to meeting you, assisting you along the road of becoming a great golfer, and to inspire you to also love golf. If you have never picked up a golf club before, now is the time!

Be patient and persevere: having regular lessons and practicing often will allow you to develop the skills you need to enjoy a successful round of golf!

Hello, I am Scott

scott1Hello Everyone.  My name is Scott Cavanaugh.

I want to welcome you to the Jinji Golf Blog.

I look forward to helping you improve your golf game in the near future.

I first learned about the game when I was 12 years old.

At that time, I became a caddy at a local country club outside Chicago.

At the age of 12, I had very little knowledge of the game.

However, as I began to work as a caddy, I began to gain a better understanding of the game. I slowly began to learn the rules of the game.

I also began to notice what separates the average golfer from the exceptional golfer.

As I grew older, I began to read and learn about what the various teachers of the game were teaching. Some of my favorites are David Leadbetter and Dave Peltz. These two men were a great influence on my game.

Once I graduated from university at the age of 22, I first decided to visit Japan. Although I was living in Japan, I was still following the great game of golf and continuing to work on my game. In 2005 I returned to the US to get my golf teachers certificate.

I returned to Japan in 2008 to work. I joined the Jinji team in late 2008.

Hopefully, in the near future, I will meet you on the practice range and help you improve your game.
